dizzying new heights

i'm loving all these snakes everywhere lately. am i the only one who actually likes the Mcqueen shoes? they're so genius... it's unreal. like walking art. they might not be practical, but who really cares when you have ads & editorials that look like this? not to mention the bad romance video, which is like crack for my eyes.

i don't care what people say, the rush is worth the price i pay.

i got carried away with all the pictures of abbey, there were too many good ones to choose from. i flirted with the idea of making this a abbey & freja post, but just this video of freja is too much to handle.

next: Christian Louboutin for Crocs please...

Jimmy Choo has announced that in October 2010, they will release a collaboration line with the oh so stylish Ugg brand. i have two things to say here. one... yes i do actually wear Uggs whenever i'm running to the store a la sweats/no makeup. they are extremely warm and comfortable and can manage to look semi-cute ONLY with sweats. so yes, for such occasions, they come in handy. however... i absolutely LOATHE seeing them in summer with skirts or cut off denim shorts circa hillbilly-britney era. that just makes zero sense.

and on a second note, they are planning on selling these disastrous things for anywhere from $595 to $795.

inspired by: Nikki

Sienna Miller as Nikki in Alfie

I came across this statue of a Greek goddess in marble. Aphrodi... Aphrodite, something like that. Beautiful, she was. Perfect female form. I stood in awe of her. Finally, the teacher calls us all over, and I'm walking past it, and on the way I notice, in the side of this Greek goddess, all these cracks, chips, imperfections. Ruined her for me. Well, that's Nikki. A beautiful sculpture, damaged... in a way you don't notice till you get too close.

one of my favorite Sienna roles ever. so good.

inspired by: Mirtha Jung

one of the dvd's collecting dust in my room is the movie Blow, with the ever amazing Johnny Depp and beautiful Penelope Cruz. i thought of this movie today for no apparent reason, and instead of brushing the cobwebs off of it and actually watching it, i decided to blog about it. i absolutely love Penelope in this movie. she's the kind of woman men want and women want to be. i don't know what to mention first... the amazing 70's style, that gorgeous spanish hair (plus one for me being from Spain & getting blessed with spanish hair) ...or that incredibly sexy accent? let's not even get started with Depp.

"Mirtha became my running partner. Beautiful, passionate... and as crazy as I was. She could party like a man and love like a woman."

this is a good one to add to the list if you haven't seen it :o) classic.

morning beauty

since it's now the new year, i decided to take this as an opportunity to remember one of my absolute favorite editorials of the past decade. Morning Beauty featuring none other than the stunning Freja Beha Erichsen by Sølve Sundsbø.
